Bamboo Leaf Green Tea 竹叶青

Produced in Ya An near the sacred Emei Mountain, this is a light green tea with an ever-so-slightly spicy, herbal taste. The name is a nod to the indigenous bamboo leaves and a local snake that shares the colour. Picked in late March at 1200m above sea level, the leaves undergo probably the lightest processing of any green tea. Barely touched by the farmer's hands, careful temperature control develops the taste and shape of the leaves. With an aroma of fresh sweet peas and a smooth, 'whole-mouth' taste, this is a perfect tea for warm summer days.
